Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media analyst for more than twenty years. She's also a seasoned public speech writer. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency which is a website which features video and posts analyzing the portrayals of females in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning Canadian-American feminist media critic as well as blogger. Feminist Frequency, a web-based resource to educate women about their role in the narratives of pop culture was the result of her research. Additionally, she serves as the executive director. She is committed to deconstructing stereotypes about women and how they are portrayed in popular culture. Additionally she has a mission to increase awareness about online harassment targeted at women and marginalized groups of people. Sarkeesian, who has an MA in the field of Social and Political Thinking at York University, is a well-known public speaking. She has delivered speeches at TEDxWomen's XOXO Festival and the United Nations Broadband Working Group for Gender. While a student at university she became concerned about issues related to gender equality and the rights of women in the early stages. The determined lady had planned to create a web series that would examine gender representation in video games. She found herself the target of an online harassment campaign. She was not deterred by the harassment, the fact is that it only bolstered her drive to become feminist and media critic. Her notable contributions to the field of feminists were recognized by a variety of prizes. Anita Sarkeesian has been a media critic for many years and founded Feminist Frequency.
