Born on Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later include 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to get away from the struggles of life through her vivid and broad imagination. Before she could write or read she wrote herself songs. When she got her first guitar at the age of 8, she began to perform on local radio stations from Knoxville in Tennessee. In the that same the year that Gold Band Records was a tiny independent record label. At the age of 16, she made herself known to the local community, however her dream was greater. When she was graduating in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted on Monument Records. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on his syndicated television show. Parton was signed to RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She was hired in the year 1967. The show ended in 1974 when her solo albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were charting collaborations with them. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached No. In 1974, Parton's song I Will Always Love You reached No.
